Working Groups: Programming Sectors--Community Engagement Accountability

About this Speaker / Orador / Conferencier

Angela is a Canadian Red Cross communications delegate with a passion for storytelling. She has worked with the IFRC and Canadian Red Cross to support in the aftermath of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, the population movement operation in Bangladesh, and those impacted by wildfires and floods in Canada. She made her first trip to the Caribbean to be the communications delegate after Hurricane Dorian. Now, she is working in communications and community engagement with the cluster office in Trinidad and Tobago. Before joining the Red Cross, Angela used her degrees in science and journalism as a reporter, telling stories with a health and social justice focus from newsrooms in Canada, the Arctic, and Uganda, and from many countries including Mexico, South Africa, Australia, and South Sudan. While the news and program director for a news talk radio station, Angela had the opportunity to work with new journalists, sharing knowledge and experience, and building their capacity.
