MATHIEU LÉONARD, Canadian Red Cross Representative, Panama office
Mathieu joined the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in 2010 following the Haiti earthquake. He worked as Head of Business Support Unit for Canadian Red Cross for a period of one year and also worked in the health ERU during the cholera response. Mathieu has subsequently hold various IFRC operations management positions in Africa, the Caribbean, South America, South Pacific & Asia. He also been involved in developing training curriculums and facilitating various emergency response trainings.
Prior to joining the Red Cross Movement, Mathieu worked as a circus manager in Brazil, launched a water drilling company in West Africa and been in the humanitarian field since 1999 with OXFAM, MSF, CUSO and UNOCHA, mostly in health in emergency and disaster response operations, many of those in conflict areas. Mathieu loves nature and scuba diving in his spare time.
