Head of the Policy, Strategy and Knowledge Unit at the IFRC Regional Office for the Americas In this capacity, she manages the areas of Strategy and Policy Engagement, Organisational Development, Volunteer and Youth Development, Learning, Education and Innovation, the regional Reference Centres. Just prior to this appointment, she served as the Caribbean Disaster Risk Management (CADRIM) Reference Centre Coordinator for almost ten years. Before her journey with the IFRC, she worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Sub-regional office for Barbados and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and, almost twenty years ago, she co-founded a charity with some friends that feeds and engages the homeless in Barbados. Reynette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Community Organization from Morris Brown College in the United States, a Masters Degree in Anthropology with a concentration in Conflict, Violence and Conciliation from the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom and a Masters Certificate in Results-based Monitoring and Evaluation and Reporting from the IDEA International Institute and University of Laval. She is married and is the mother of two vivacious young girls.
