Terez Curry is the President of The Bahamas Red Cross Society. She became President on July 1st , 2019. Prior to becoming President, Terez served as Acting President for the year 2018-2019. Terez took the mantel of governing the National Society with much enthusiasm. She sort to ensure that the Society went through the Organizational Capacity Assessment & Certification workshop to help the Red Cross increase its capacity and focus and determine its gaps. She anticipates completing this Certification for the National Society. She is coordinating the Hurricane Dorian relief effort in conjunction with IFRC and Partner National Societies as well as ensuring that the National Society plays its role in the fight against COVID 19 whilst preparing for the 2020 hurricane season. She is focused on building the capacity of the National Society to be a major humanitarian contributor in The Bahamas and the region. Terez was appointed as a member of the Audit and Risk Commission, International Federation Red Cross Red Crescent in December, 2019 at the 33rd General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. In April 2020, Terez Curry was awarded the United Kingdom Commonwealth Points of Light Award by the HE Sarah Dickson, British High Commission to The Bahamas on behalf of HM Queen Elizabeth. Terez became a member of the National Society in 1994 and has held various positions in the National Society. She has attended several trainings and meetings offered by the Movement. She continues to see helping others as a primary life goal. Terez is a former Private Banker, with an internal audit and risk management background. She along with her husband Joseph now owns and operates ITICS (Bahamas) Ltd. an investment, trade and consultancy firm and also operates Bayhill Realty, a full service Real Estate Company. Terez has a Masters of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University. She is married to Joseph Curry and the couple has two adult children- Reon and Rickell.
